COVID-19 Updates at The Capitol Hotel

As of June 17th, The Capitol Hotel is open to all guests! Your health and safety, as well as that of our team members, is vitally important to us. Please take a moment to note some of our new policies and procedures, as mandated by the State of Connecticut.

Face Masks: Face masks are required to be worn in all public areas of the hotel – anywhere outside your guest room. If you are seen not wearing one, we will gently remind you of this government order and ask you to put one on. Don’t have one? Please let us know and we will happily provide one to you. Please note that the need for continued reminders could result in a guest’s stay privileges being revoked. Please help us keep you, fellow guests, and our team members safe by complying with this requirement.

Hand Sanitizer: A hand sanitizing station is available 24/7 in the lobby next to the front desk.

Elevator: At this time, there is a maximum of two (2) people in the elevator at a time (or a family unit of 4).

Breakfast: For the time being, we have suspended our buffet breakfast. A complimentary Breakfast to Go box is available each morning from 6 am-9 am (7 am-10 am Saturday and Sunday) at the front desk. Your box will contain a bottle of water, a wrapped fruit, wrapped pastry, a yogurt, and a packaged cutlery kit. We are working on enhancing our breakfast offering soon, while keeping it within the State of Connecticut guidelines for indoor restaurant service. We hope to roll these changes out soon.

Fitness Center: Please see the front desk for access. We are allowing one (1) guest at a time (or 2 family members) in the space to promote additional health and safety. We kindly ask that you limit your workout to 30 minutes or less and to let the front desk know when you have completed your workout. This will allow us to sanitize the room for the next guest.

Business Center: Please ensure there is only 1 guest at a time utilizing the business center. Mask required.

Ping Pong Tables: We are pleased to have 2 ping pong tables located in the Lobby and on the 2nd Floor. This is a perfect social distancing acceptable activity. So don your mask and get your game on!

Commitment to Clean: Our enhanced cleaning procedures of both the public space and your guestroom is part of our overall commitment to your safety while our guest. This includes ensuring all guest touchpoints are regularly cleaned and sanitized in accordance with guidelines. A note for our guests staying multiple nights: our team members cannot enter your room while you are present. To receive cleaning service, please let us know when you are stepping out and we will clean your room while you are out.

No Smoking: The Capitol Hotel is 100% non-smoking and would like to remind all guests that there is a $250 penalty for smoking in a guest room.
